Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Event
We invite you to join us for a remembrance event at UT Botanical Gardens on Tuesday, October 15, any time between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Parents, family members, and friends are invited to drive through and view our special display remembering babies lost. There will also be an opportunity for families and loved ones to park and join us at the McIlwaine Friendship Pavilion to be supported and in community with other families. Every family will receive a gift, including a candle and luminary to place at their home in remembrance of their loved one.
If you're unable to join us at the event, we encourage you to participate in the Wave of Light that will take place all across the world in memory of these losses. Please safely place a candle or luminary in a place that is visible outside your home or in a window on Tuesday, October 15th, at 7 p.m.
If you wish, you can post a picture of your luminary on Facebook & Instagram with the hashtags #waveoflight, #pregnancy&infantloss, and #KCHD
To reserve your gift at the event please register on the UT Medical Center’s website. For more information, please call the Knox County Health Department at 865-215-5170.
Online Support Group
Join us for our Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Group.
We would love to have you!
New around here or just want to know what to expect in a support group?
Let us answer some questions for you.
Who:: Any woman who has experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss at any time is welcome. All losses are significant and we welcome you whether you lost your baby through a miscarriage at 5 weeks or an infant loss at 5 months. There is a space for you here.
What:: A support group for women. We generally have a small group of women who have experienced loss. This group is not counseling or therapy — it is simply a safe space to share your story, your baby’s story, and listen to others who have walked a similar path of loss.
When:: Monday from 7 - 8 pm.
Where:: Online. Join us for a Zoom meeting. Please email hello@theprojectgabriel.org if you are interested in participating.
Why:: We believe it’s important to go through grief with others. We believe in the power of talking with people who get it. We know that healing comes when we share our stories and experiences and are able to walk with others through it. We want you to be a part of that.
